Commercial Organozinc Reagents in Conjunction with BASF
Organometallic compounds, such as Grignard and organolithium regeants, are widely used as intermediates in chemical synthesis. Organozinc halide reagents can react with a variety of organic electrophiles in the presence of transition-metals such as copper, palladium, and nickel.

This reactivity, combined with unique functional group tolerances, will allow access to a broad range of polyfunctional molecules without the need for tedious protection/deprotection steps. Because of their unique functionality and targeted reactivity, organozinc halide reagents serve as better alternatives to traditional Grignard and organolithium compounds.
